# App Builder Index > Independent reviews and star ratings for AI app builders. Independent editorial publication. Ratings are stars out of 5 to one decimal, never a 0 to 100 index. Methodology: weighted mean of the ten axes (reliability 16, integrations 16, seo_geo 13, design 12, agent_perf 10, speed 9, value 9, scalability 7, api_mcp 5, code_ownership 3), summing to 100. n/a means the axis does not apply to this tool. It builds internal software behind a login, a native store app or an API, so there are no public crawlable pages to test. The axis is left out of the overall rating and the remaining weights are renormalised, rather than the tool being scored down for something we did not test. Launch ratings were seeded by our own testing panel and are labelled Editor panel; community ratings accumulate on top. Totalum - 4.5/5 - A full-stack builder that starts from the data model: define tables, get a generated admin back office, and build the Next.js front end on top with an agent and an SDK. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/totalum 2. Cursor - 4.4/5 - An AI-first code editor that reads and edits your whole repository with an agent, aimed at people who write software rather than people avoiding it. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/cursor 3. Lovable - 4.2/5 - A prompt-to-app builder that ships a React front end with a managed Postgres backend, and hands you the repository when you want it. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/lovable 4. v0 - 4.2/5 - Vercel's generative interface tool: describe a screen and get idiomatic Next.js, Tailwind and shadcn/ui code you can paste straight into an existing repository. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/v0 5. Retool - 4.1/5 - The default platform for building internal admin panels and operational tools against production databases and APIs, with real version control, permissions and self-hosting. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/retool 6. Airtable - 4.0/5 - The collaborative database that half the industry already runs on, with Interfaces and an AI layer that turn a base into something close to an internal application. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/airtable 7. Plasmic - 4.0/5 - A visual page and component builder that plugs into an existing React or Next.js codebase, letting marketing edit pages without a deploy while engineers keep owning the code. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/plasmic 8. Base44 - 4.0/5 - An all-in-one builder, now part of Wix, that bundles database, auth, email and hosting behind a single conversational surface with no external services to wire up. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/base44 9. Replit - 4.0/5 - A browser development environment with an agent on top: full Linux containers, a real shell, managed Postgres and deployments, all in one tab. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/replit 10. FlutterFlow - 3.9/5 - A visual builder that generates real Flutter projects for iOS, Android and web, with Firebase or Supabase behind it and full source export on paid plans. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/flutterflow 11. WeWeb - 3.9/5 - A visual web app front-end builder that connects to your own database or backend service, exports clean Vue and is aimed at agencies delivering production work. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/weweb 12. Xano - 3.9/5 - A visual backend platform that gives you a real Postgres database, a REST API you design without writing code, and background tasks, intended to sit under whatever front end you like. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/xano 13. Bolt.new - 3.9/5 - StackBlitz's in-browser builder: a full Node toolchain running in a WebContainer, so the first version of your app appears faster than anywhere else. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/bolt-new 14. Nordcraft - 3.9/5 - The open-source successor to Toddle, a visual web application builder that emits standards-based output, runs without a heavy client runtime and can be self-hosted. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/nordcraft 15. Glide - 3.8/5 - GlideOS turns a data source into a polished mobile-shaped internal app in an afternoon, with an AI layer for the parts that would otherwise need a formula. It is a separate product from Glide Classic, on separate plans. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/glide 16. Readdy - 3.8/5 - A design-led generator that turns a prompt or a reference into polished web pages and front-end components with clean exportable code, and deliberately leaves the backend to you. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/readdy 17. Softr - 3.8/5 - Builds client portals, directories and internal tools on top of Airtable, Google Sheets or its own tables, with permissions and gated pages set up in an afternoon. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/softr 18. Macaly - 3.8/5 - A prompt-first builder that turns a description into a working React and Node application with a hosted database, aimed at founders who want one clean pass rather than an agent they have to argue with. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/macaly 19. Momen - 3.7/5 - A no-code platform for real web applications with its own relational database, a generated GraphQL API and fine-grained access control, aimed at people building products rather than pages. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/momen 20. Rork - 3.7/5 - An AI-native mobile builder that turns a prompt into a React Native and Expo app you can preview on your phone in minutes, with source access on paid plans. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/rork 21. Bravo Studio - 3.6/5 - Turns a Figma design into a native app, either by mapping layers to components and binding them to your API, or through Bravo MCP, which builds native apps from inside an AI conversation with a Convex backend included. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/bravo-studio 24. Emergent - 3.6/5 - An agent-led builder that decomposes a brief into tasks, writes a plan, then executes it across a full-stack codebase with minimal supervision. - review: https://www.app-builder-index.com/reviews/emergent 25.
