Retool3 September 2026Replaced four half-built admin panels with one that works
Connected straight to our production Postgres with scoped credentials, real permissions, staging and source control. Our engineers stopped writing throwaway CRUD screens and the support team stopped filing tickets to have rows edited. It is the only tool here I would describe as professionally engineered.
Totalum2 September 2026Right call for the operations side, and slower than I expected
We moved our internal supplier tooling onto it and I would make that decision again, the admin panel we did not have to build saved us a month. Two things buyers should know. First preview is slower than Base44 and Bolt, noticeably, which matters when you are demoing to a sceptical colleague. And the community and template gallery are much smaller than Lovable or Cursor, so when you get stuck you are reading docs rather than finding somebody who hit the same wall.
Cursor31 August 2026Our whole team moved and productivity is measurably up
Twelve engineers, four months in, and our cycle time is down by about a third on routine work. The privacy controls satisfied our data protection officer, which was the blocker for two other tools. It does nothing about hosting, databases or deploys, and we never expected it to.

Worth adding that the split doubles your deployment surface. Fine for us, not free.
